SEBA SOCIAL FOUNDATION - SSF

WELLCOME TO SSF WEBSITE

Seba Social Foundation (SSF) is a local voluntary organization (NGO) based in Bangladesh. In 2009, a group of young, educated individuals led by Jashim Uddin Ripon formed Seba Social Foundation (SSF) with the aim of promoting social activities. SSF was established by like-minded social workers to enhance the socio-economic and cultural status of the rural and urban poor and vulnerable populations, with a particular emphasis on women and children. This is achieved through awareness building, capacity development, institution building, utilization of local resources, and implementing need-based problem-solving programs using modern and scientific techniques.

Seba Social Foundation (SSF) has been implementing various activities, including non-formal education, primary healthcare, disability development, climate change initiatives, tree plantation, water and sanitation projects, human rights advocacy, agriculture, fisheries, handicrafts, income-generating activities (IGA) training, and awareness-building programs. These have been supported by local donations and contributions.

The achievements of SSF are remarkable and praiseworthy within a short period. The organization has gained a strong reputation locally and among local administrations and government departments, receiving technical and moral support and cooperation.

SSF primarily implements its projects in Lakshmipur district but has the potential to expand to other areas of Bangladesh with the recognition of the Government of Bangladesh.

SSF has already covered 45 villages across 15 Unions in the Kamolnagor Upazila of Lakshmipur District. The organization provides literacy support to 600 illiterate group members. It has a training center, a developed nursery, a permanent office building with sufficient accommodation, necessary furniture and equipment, and has assisted in installing 20 tube wells in poor areas. SSF has built 125 sanitary latrines, planted approximately 1500 tree seedlings, provided handicrafts and sewing training to 100 unemployed women, and offered primary healthcare, nutrition, and family planning education to 700 members and other community people. The organization has re-excavated 3 ponds and cultivated improved varieties of fish, resulting in increased production and income for local fisherfolk. Additionally, SSF has trained 15 staff members and volunteers, who are now skilled and well-qualified. The organization has developed gender policies, financial manuals, management policies, strategic plans, and service rules, ensuring all activities are conducted following these guidelines.
